Caldas da Rainha's ceramics, also known as Rafaleo
Bordalo Pinheiro, its genius designer, are among the most popular handicrafts
with both portuguese and foreigners alike. A couple of centuries after they
were first created they are as uptodate as modern ceramics, and keep on
fascinating people everywhere. |

Not only the animals were a source of inspiration,
but also a large number of vegetables were turned into beautiful bowls,

Coimbra is also a source of excellent ceramics, and
its XVIIth century design is also very well known and liked for decoration
purposes. Full coffee or tea sets are favourites of ours, beatifully decorated
in this unmistakable style. |
